How to forward missed calls on your mobile
Most UK mobiles can forward only the calls you don’t answer, using a short code typed into the phone keypad. Calls you pick up still come to you as normal.
The codes
Replace NUMBER with the number you want calls to go to, written in full, for example 07700900123 or +447700900123. Type the code into your phone’s keypad and press call. You’ll see a confirmation on screen.

These are standard codes. They work on EE, O2, Vodafone and Three, and on most of the networks that use them. Some business plans manage forwarding through an online account instead, so check with your provider if a code shows an error.
What happens to voicemail?
Unanswered calls normally go to voicemail. When you forward them somewhere else, that replaces voicemail for those calls. If you switch forwarding off with ##61#, unanswered calls go nowhere until voicemail is turned back on, so you may need to ring your network’s voicemail number or ask them to restore it.
iPhone
Use the codes above in the Phone app keypad. The call forwarding switch in Settings › Phone › Call Forwarding sends every call to the other number, including the ones you would have answered, so it isn’t the right setting for missed calls.
Android
You can use the codes, or open the Phone app, tap the menu, then Settings › Calls or Supplementary services › Call forwarding, and set When unanswered. The exact names vary by manufacturer.
Landlines
Landline forwarding depends on your provider and often uses different codes. Look for “call diversion” in your provider’s help pages, or ask them to divert calls on no reply.
Does it cost anything?
Your network may charge a forwarded call as if you had rung the number yourself. Calls to UK mobile numbers are included in most UK plans, but check your plan if you’re not sure.
